3. Second pass: after review or sleep

The second pass unlocks only after the first card and clock safeguards are complete. It must occur at or after the recorded safe decision time.

How to read the difference

If nothing changed, that can support the decision. If the deadline, cost, or downside changed, revise the choice. If only the emotion changed, record that too. The pause may produce information, distance, or neither.

For a shared financial decision, each adult can capture the first reaction separately before discussing it.

Common mistakes

Treating the four states as a sequence or diagnosis
Treating one good hour as proof that review is unnecessary
Finalizing a material choice on arrival when the real deadline allows a pause
Using the 48-Hour Rule to override the actual deadline
Using a household partner as the only technical reviewer

Completion test

The normal route is complete after the nine Decision Card lines, the selected safeguard, reviewer input, and a second pass at or after the recorded safe review time. The professional or safety route is complete only as a paused employment decision with an immediate support action and contact time.
